UNICEF is the world’s leading advocate for children, promoting the rights and wellbeing of every child in everything we do. Together with partners, UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere. UNICEF’s work is guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child and focuses on seven outcome areas – health; HIV/AIDS; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); nutrition; education; child protection; and social inclusion – and two cross-cutting areas – gender equality and humanitarian action.

The following UNICEF divisions and offices are based in Geneva: Geneva Liaison Office (GLO), Geneva Office of Emergency Programmes (EMOPS), Regional Office for Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CEE/CIS RO) and Division of Private Fundraising and Partnerships (PFP).
