Working towards the prominent uptake of Sustainable Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition in the Post-2015 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, high level representatives from governments, the UN System, research, civil society, farmers, and the private sector gathered at the High Level Roundtable on “Food and Nutrition Security through Sustainable Agri culture and Food Systems in the Post-2015 Agenda” on 27th and 28th March 2014 in New York.

The High Level Roundtable took place prior to the 10th session of the Open Working Group on SDGs (OWG), and was hosted by the Government of Benin, Biovision Foundation, and the Millennium Institute, with support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA), the Institute for Sustainable Development and Inter national Relations (IDDRI), the Third World Network, the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and Mercator Foundation Switzerland.

The message SHIFT, urging for a transformational change in agriculture and food systems, proposing targets to be achieved by 2030, and outlining interlinkages to other issue areas, received broad support amongst participants
