Green Cross Switzerland: Environmental Pollution Report 2013

Ten most polluted places 2013

ndependent environmental organization Green Cross Switzerland in cooperation with the US-based Blacksmith Institute, presents a list of the world’s ten most polluted places. These ten sites are spread over eight countries.

The top-ten list appears in alphabetical order by country. Given the variety in size, population and type of pollution, a ranking would be neither realistic nor feasible.

The Environmental Toxin Report 2013 provides information on the progress and challenges in remediating polluted places and features a new top-ten list, from which formerly listed places have been eliminated due to completed remediation processes while new places have been added. With regard to the most polluted places listed in 2006, 2007 and 2013, the report analyzes the scope of the completed work.
