Globethics.net is a worldwide ethics network based in Geneva, with an international Board of Foundation of eminent persons. It provides an online platform, www.globethics.net, for ethical reflection and action with a digital library of nearly 1.7 million documents on ethics and related areas and a network of more than 155,000 registered participants. Our activities include providing access to knowledge on ethics, facilitating research, exchange and dialogue online and through conferences, as well as training and implementing special projects.
The aim of Globethics.net is to ensure that people in all regions of the world are empowered to reflect and act on ethical issues through access to good quality and up to date knowledge resources. The founding conviction of Globethics.net was that more equal access to knowledge resources in the field of applied ethics will enable individuals and institutions from developing and transition economies in particular to become more visible and audible in the global discourse on ethics. There is no cost involved in using the online library. Individuals only need to register (free of charge) as participants on the Globethics.net website to get access to all the full text journals, encyclopedias, e-books and other resources in the library.
In addition to the library, Globethics.net also offers participants on its website the opportunity to join or form electronic working groups for purposes of networking or collaborative research. The knowledge produced through the working groups and research is often published by Globethics Publications with the volumes also being made available in the Globethics.net Library.
Our team at the head office based in Geneva works closely together with the nine Globethics.net regional programmes in China, East Africa, Francophone Africa, Southern Africa, Turkey, Russia, South America, India and Indonesia, with over 40 National Contacts and with around 200 partner organisations.
