International Institute for Child Protection (IICP), a non-profit organization based in Serre Kunda The Gambia, was founded in 1998 by child rights experts and concerned individuals in response to the social crisis triggered by the dramatic increase of human rights violations of the children population in Africa and The Gambia in particular. IICP aim is to educate, provide adequate information, organize and mobilize a partnership of community residents and organizations to advocate for social inclusion and integration of children in effective child protection policies formulation, emphasizing participation of children in all matters that concern them. We educate the public about the practical and ethical consequences of resorting to restricting participation of children instead of considering their views.
