Situé au Palais des Nations, l’Office des Nations Unies à Genève (ONUG) est le bureau qui représente le Secrétaire général à Genève. Haut lieu de la diplomatie multilatérale, il fournit les services de conférence pour plus de 8 000 réunions par an, ce qui en fait l’un des centres de conférences les plus actifs du monde. Par son infrastructure et son appui, l’ONUG contribue de manière essentielle aux efforts déployés par l’Organisation pour assurer la paix et la sécurité dans le monde, faire progresser le désarmement, défendre et promouvoir les droits de l’homme, éliminer la pauvreté, mettre en œuvre des pratiques compatibles avec le développement durable et fournir avec rapidité et efficacité des secours humanitaires lors des situations d'urgence. Fort de plus de 1 500 employés représentant 111 nationalités, l'ONUG est le plus grand département du Secrétariat des Nations Unies en dehors du siège à New York.
